Welcome to the History of Greggton
First Baptist Church!
Our journey began in March 1932 during an inspiring tent revival led by young preacher Lee Smith in Willow Springs, just outside Longview Texas. Within a week, 12 passionate individuals came together to form a church initially named Willow Springs Baptist Church. As our community evolved, so did our name, transforming into First Baptist of Greggton in November 1932 and later to Greggton First Baptist Church in late 1950s.
Today, with over ninety years, we remain dedicated to the Great Commission of reaching out to the lost and supporting our community. We are a community of believers that gather to worship, fellowship, and share our love for our Lord Jesus Christ, and for one another.
